The return of Holiday...

...the Christmas flamingo! Today, Holiday is pictured standing outside the entrance of the veterinary clinic (an appropriate place for a flamingo in the desert, eh?) I'm happy to report that plans for Christmas are currently underway downrange. M. is getting ready to make his traditional green bean casserole (thanks, Mom B.!) a dish that gets Holiday's stamp of approval, being vegetarian and all. So, some things, like M.'s signature casserole, will be reminiscent Christmas at home, but one thing that will not is Santa's method of entry to M.'s current digs should his name make it onto the "Nice" list. M. pointed out to me today that there are no working fireplaces in the desert...so Santa's gonna have to forego the tradtional chimney descent and knock this year. Fortunately, though, whether the real Santa makes it to Bagdhad or not, M. is in luck, as several Santas (and you know who you are: thank you!) have already helped to fill the area under his tree with packages. So real Santa or no, he'll be sure to be opening lots of gifts on Christmas morning. In the midst of holiday and other preparations, he's enjoying a little Sunday downtime today and getting ready for the coming week. Hope those of you in the west are enjoying a good Sunday, too!
