Tom Petty was Right:
The waiting is the hardest part. Or is that the "waaa-yeaa-ting"? Either way, time, both here and in Iraq, has dragged to a standstill as M. and I count the days until his arrival in Germany. Granted, the countdown has been, um, somewhat arbitrary on my part as I'm not privy to some of the details of his arrival: things like date and time are yet to be revealed to those of us without the appropriate super secret computer and phone hookups! Anyway, he's been carrying on with business as usual, as well as completing a few additional tasks to prepare for his brief absence from the unit. Tonight, after spending most of Saturday working, he's just headed off to bed to get some much-needed sleep, and tomorrow, like most Sundays, is his only designated "day off". He's hoping to have some downtime and to keep checking things off his to do list, and by tomorrow night, we'll be one day closer to the end of the waiting...a good thing!
