Updates
Just a quick update: M. is back in Iraq after several days in Kuwait. He's tired and excited, but overall, doing fine: just very, very anxious to embark on the road home, and it won't be too terribly long now. As of today, approximately 90% of the deployment is complete. What lies ahead is several weeks of precisely scheduled tasks...and a building sense of excitement that the unit's mission is nearly accomplished. He told me during a brief phone conversation today that these last few weeks, he's "busier than he's ever been," and asks me to send his love to you all as he's had precious little free time to make phone calls or even sit down and read email. Right now, he's juggling what seems like an endless to-do list and coordinating day-to-day logistics for his unit, which is no small matter, from the sound of things! But, we're looking ahead, and ready for a return to normalcy...keep your chin up, M.: it won't be long now!
